Today, these resolutions are often measured in gigapixels for images composed of more than one billion pixels, greater than a thousand times more information than is captured by a 1-megapixel digital camera. Such images are usually created by taking many individual shots, and then stitching these together into a digital mosaic.

The results are technically innovative and often visually outstanding. This post showcases 20 of the best high-resolution photographs, amazing pictures to astound and inspire. Many of these photographs are of cities and landscapes, as these are amongst the best subject matter for this type of image making.

We do have pictures of the other side of the world but we call them targeting grids. Fleece your own people, build your own camera and take pictures of what ever you want.. Stop whining and do something for yourself. This Utopian view of sharing only works when their is excess of production to give away freely and which once allowed America to build great programs such as NASA. No more NASA. The time has ended and everyone through out the world, including the USA, needs to pick themselves up from their own bootstraps and DO SOMETHING for THEMSELVES... No more free rides. The US Minuteman 3 is the only US land-based MIRV ICBM currently in use. These MIRV capable ICBM's are especially used because they are harder to counter with anti ballistic missile systems due to number of independent re-entry vehicles in the re-entry phase. True to keeping the world more on edge, the Russians are developing the Bulava(SS-27 class) sea-launched MIRV ICBM. Supposedly the most advanced MIRV ICBM to date and still under development. This is obviously in response to the US Ballistic missile "Shield" that is under development.
